Today... is your Life

Instead of rushing through our lives to get somewhere - instead of saving up real living for later - it's important to remember that each single day is all we have. Single days experienced fully add up to a lifetime lived deeply and well. Today is your life - not yesterday and not tomorrow. If we have tomorrow, it will be a gift, but what we do today, right now, will have an accumulated effect on all our tomorrows.
This comes from a book I'm reading called "Living a Beautiful Life".

I'm sure you have all given it some thought of what 2009 will be for you. The consensus seems to be... simplify. Start cleaning out closets, get rid of items that don't bring joy to your everyday life, and things that simply are not needed. This is a year for celebrations, travel, and enjoying ever single day!
Start right this minute with a change.
What are you going to do today??

Start Fresh

Resolutions, starting fresh, making lists! This year let's write some different ideas on our lined paper. Yes we can still put the usual suspects of lose weight, eat better, read more, watch less TV, fall in love. But how about something more..... interesting yet a reachable goal.

So tell us people.... what's on you list?? What are you going to do in 2009??

I'm just gettin started on my resolutions.... but it's looking good so far.

Happy New Year everyone!!

Little Doodles

With everything covered in snow... this is the time of year when it's necessary to put out the bird seed . It's amazing how fast those chickadees, nuthatches and the like find the food. Poor little dears are hungry. Watching them flitting around reminds me of a fun artist we found on Etsy called
Little Doodles.

How sweet is this one with the cupcake. If you know anyone who loves cupcakes... and I'm sure you do, this ones for them.

And little lily on a jar of apricot jam.

or Clara and her fruity fragrance

We all have an issue on where to put our lipstick... I think Sylvia is on the right track.

Grab yourself a little something special on Etsy. It's all handmade. The talent that's out there just waiting to be discovered.

Charlie

This is our Dog Charlie. He is now just ten months old and such a lug. We just love, love, love him!

Charlie just love, love... loves the snow!

There is no stopping him. He's worse than a little kid. He wants in the house and then out again. Warm up a little and then out to play.

blazing trails through the mountains of snow.

Around and Around he goes...

Charlie is running out around our pond that is now frozen over. The ice is covered with a layer of snow. I've scolded him a couple times for being out on it. He minds pretty well but our other dog Tessy does not. So Charlie only goes out after her. There is an Island in the middle of the pond that they can now get out to and explore.

Well on Christmas Day... Charlie went out on the now thawing pond while we were in the house not aware of the tragedy that was about to unfold. He followed Tessy out about 20 feet from shore and the ice broke from under him. The big guy struggled to get back to shore and fortunately the ice was thin enough to be able to break a path back to safety. Short of the story.... HE'S FINE.

Moral of the story... watch you children and pets with the thawing temperatures. We were lucky enough to avoid a near tragedy on Christmas Day.
